This lovely designer dress pattern, by DUARTE, is perfect for high summer and vacation dressing. A bare shoulder, halter style dress, called a halter neck wrap-around, with a shaped midriff and gathered skirt. A tie cord accentuates the waist & ties at front. The halter closes at the neck with buttons. Very cool styling for vacation wear or lovely sunny days.

USE
This is a tissue paper pattern for recreating the styles shown on the envelope front. The original pieces are printed tissue paper and should be handled with care. The instruction sheet has a cutting chart, tips and the sewing instructions. The envelope back has a guide to pattern pieces, a measurement chart, material requirements and sewing notions.
In order to recreate a style you will need to purchase your material, notions and anything you might need for embellishing. To test the fit before using expensive fabric, purchase muslin & recreate the style in a basic version. It is advisable to make a paper copy when resizing or altering the design.
CARE
*For small tears, use archival tape or a glue stick & tissue paper.
*Store the pattern in its protective sleeve or bag to reduce breakage and further discoloring.

About the patterns:
These are originals, not copies. They are part of a large collection of daywear patterns that have been checked, repaired where needed and are ready to be used to create new nostalgic clothing.
Restored means:
I redraw missing or destroyed pieces, where possible. I also make print outs of brittle or damaged instruction sheets.
Repairs are archival:
I make repairs solely with archival tape. The pieces are pressed and folded. All patterns are stored in archival sleeves or bags, to prevent further deterioration. For old tape on pieces, I either redraw them or over tape the area with archival tape.
why vintage patterns:
The power of old patterns is the silhouette, most retro patterns lack the authenticity of silhouette. the patterns are exciting for seamstresses and vintage lovers. a vintage pattern can be the key to creating a fine piece of clothing.
need help:
if you don’t understand the pattern or need help with altering the size or any vintage sewing techniques that are difficult to understand, please message me.
