This special design pattern from vogue is for a one-piece dress with interesting details. The bodice seaming of this iconic 40s style special design dress accentuates the shoulders, creating a dramatic & masculine shoulder line. The fabric or novelty belt accesorizes the no-seam waistline, while welt seams adorn the side-front dress and back blouse. Front buttons are placed below the high-neckline which is adorned with a small shaped collar. The dress features a panel back and either bracelet length sleeves with attached cuffs or long fitted sleeves set into dropped-shoulder armholes. DETAILS
This used pattern has 11 perforated tissue paper pieces with water spots, 1 instruction sheet on unbleached paper with shoulder pad instructions included and the original 4-colour printed envelope with discoloring and various archival repairs-including a repaired tear over name & illustration at front. This includes a protective archival sleeve or bag & a pattern folder with tips. Please see photos for quality.

· Material: no suggestions, but dress weight wools, viscose/rayon/lyocell twills or crepes could work.
FIT
This style fits closely at the waist & hip, the shoulders are wider than natural (you need shoulder pads for this style). Made for a 34″ or 86cm bust. Pay special attention to the shoulder & sleeve when sizing up.

USE
This is a tissue paper pattern for recreating the styles shown on the pattern cover. The original pieces are unprinted, perforated tissue paper and should be handled with care. The envelope back has a text description of the styles, material useage chart and a guide to the pattern pieces. The information sheet shows a general process of construction with some tips, a company measurement chart, cutting guides, piece guide & a line drawing of the design. In order to recreate a style you will need to purchase your material, notions and anything you might need for embellishing. To test the fit before using expensive fabric, purchase muslin & recreate the style in a basic version. It is advisable to make a paper copy when resizing or altering the design.
CARE
- For small tears, use archival tape or a glue stick & tissue paper.
- Store the pattern in its protective sleeve or bag to reduce breakage and further discoloring.
