Advance released this housecoat pattern in the largest child size, but with length adjustment, this can be used for the smallest adult size. This lets you make a maxi housecoat with princess seams.

The princess seam dress is designed to be cut long or short and with or without a charming Peter Pan collar, allowing for a variety of styles to suit different occasions. Depending on your preference, the front buttoning dress can feature short puff sleeves for a playful look or long straight sleeves for a more elegant appearance. Additionally, the skirt boasts a full hem that adds a touch of flair and femininity, while optional patch pockets provide both functionality and a stylish detail.

USE

This is a tissue paper pattern for recreating the styles shown on the pattern cover. The original pieces are printed tissue paper and should be handled with care. The envelope back has a text description of the styles, back view sketches of the styles, sketch of pattern pieces, material useage charts, the measurement chart of the company, notions needed and material suggestions. The information sheet shows a general process of construction with some tips.

In order to recreate a style you will need to purchase your material, notions and anything you might need for embellishing. To test the fit, before using expensive fabric, purchase muslin & recreate the style in a basic version. It is advisable to make a paper copy when resizing or altering the design.

CARE

  • For small tears, use archival tape or a glue stick & tissue paper.
