This original 40s simplicity 1948 dirndl skirt pattern is one of my favorite designs. It’s in a small size but easily enlarged. A pattern to make a cozy and soft everyday skirt. Originally designed for fall, this would also look great for summer in a khadi or lightweight woven plaid. A beautiful full skirt with deep pockets, this style is perfect for romantic and femme dressing.

The gathered skirt features a front pleat and huge patch pockets on the side front. A back opening finishes the skirt, which joins to a waistband.

*this is an original vintage pattern and comes in this size only. paper sewing patterns are perishable goods, it is often difficult to find  a proper working pattern in the perfect size, sometimes it’s impossible. that’s where I can help, if you need a guide to resizing skirt patterns – write me at checkout and I will send a tutorial with your package.

USE

In order to recreate a style you will need to purchase your material, notions and anything you might need for embellishing. To test the fit before using expensive fabric, purchase muslin & recreate the style in a basic version. It is advisable to make a paper copy when resizing or altering the design.

CARE

  • For small tears, use archival tape or a glue stick & tissue paper.
  • Store the pattern in its protective sleeve or bag to reduce breakage and further discoloring.
