Classic 1940s back-buttoning blouses with long billowed sleeve, short or cap sleeve. The three sleeve options all with built-up shoulders. 4 styles in 1 pattern from simplicity a 1946 secretary style.
The blouse with back-buttoning features tucks and dart tucks at the front and back lower edges. The blouse front has soft fullness released by a forward shoulder seam. Styles I and IV include a peter-pan collar and the option of short or capped sleeves. Lace edging is available as an option. styles II and III have bishop sleeves that gather at the upper edge. In style II, there is a high round neckline. Style III features rows of lace trimming the front and lace ruffling edging the neck and sleeve bands.

DETAILS
This is a tissue paper pattern for recreating the styles shown on the pattern cover. The original pieces are printed tissue paper and should be handled with care. The envelope back has a text description of the styles, guide to pieces, material useage chart, notions needed and material suggestions. The information sheets show the process of construction with some tips. Please see photos for quality. This ships with a protective storage sleeve and pattern folder.

· Notions: thread; snap fasteners; buttonhole twist; 5 buttons; triangular shoulder pads (visit the library or a tutorial)
· Material: not specified but you can never go wrong with lightweight rayon or silks. crepes are also pretty universal, soft cottons or linens are staples. the forties are also known for jersey clothing in silk, wool or rayon.
FIT
The styles have built-up shoulders and are dart fitted at the hip. Ths style is made or shoulder pads.
· Measurements: Bust 34″ or 86cm, Waist 28″ or 71cm
USE
In order to recreate a style you will need to purchase your material, notions and anything you might need for embellishing. To test the fit before using expensive fabric, purchase muslin & recreate the style in a basic version. It is advisable to make a paper copy when resizing or altering the design.
CARE
- For small tears, use archival tape or a glue stick & tissue paper.
- Store the pattern in its protective sleeve or bag to reduce breakage and further discoloring.
