simplicity 2305; ©1948; waist 24″: this original 40s dirndl skirt design is one of my favorites, it’s in a small size but easily enlarged. originally designed for fall, this would also look great for summer in a khadi or lightweight woven plaid. a beautiful full skirt with deep pockets, a more femme style for the 40s.

a front pleat is featured on the gathered skirt. huge, patch pockets enhance the side front. the skirt is finished with a back opening and joins to a waistband.
