This 1973 casual dress pattern includeds 3 versions. The “look slimmer™” silhouette in an larger size. The styles are great for painting, patchwork or applique. Its charming simplicity make it a favorite among crafters and artists alike.

However, it is worth noting that this pattern is listed as incomplete because the bust measurement of 46″ has been cut away. Despite this, you can easily size up this style with a little creativity and skill. With just a few adjustments, you can unlock the full potential of this delightful pattern and create something truly unique.

The 1973 casual dress is styled with a front zipper with high round neckline and patch pockets. V.1 & 2 have collar and short set-in sleeves. V. 1 features waistline casing and ribbon drawstring. V. 2 has novelty braid trim. Braid and rick-rack trimmed V. 3 is sleeveless and collarless.

DETAILS

This incomplete* pattern has 9 printed tissue paper pieces, 1 instruction sheet on unbleached paper & the original 4-colour printed envelope with discoloring & some wrinkles. The pieces are cut with pinking sheers to the smallest size 40 or a 44″ Bust, *size 42 is no longer there.

This includes a protective archival sleeve or bag & a pattern folder with tips. Please see photos for quality.

· Notions: thread; seam binding or stretch lace ; 24″ neck zipper
· Material: interlock, jersey, challis, sateen, seersucker, gingham, canvas, duck, pique, poplin, linen.

FIT
· Measurements: Bust 44″ or 112cm, Waist 37″or 94cm, Hip 46″or 117cm

USE

This is a tissue paper pattern for recreating the styles shown on the pattern cover. The original pieces are printed tissue paper and should be handled with care. The envelope back has a text description of the styles, back view sketches of the styles, material useage charts, the measurement chart of the company, notions needed and material suggestions. The information sheet shows a general process of construction with a metric conversion chart.

In order to recreate a style you will need to purchase your material, notions and anything you might need for embellishing. To test the fit, before using expensive fabric, purchase muslin & recreate the style in a basic version. It is advisable to make a paper copy when resizing or altering the design.

CARE

  • For small tears, use archival tape or a glue stick & tissue paper.
  • Store the pattern in its protective sleeve or bag to reduce breakage and further discoloring.
