The pattern includes: a fully lined box bag or purse with heart appliqué and zipper closing (View 1). A classic satchel or boho bag with lined flap in View 2 or zip-up spats (V. 3 ) with elastic foot strap. There are special stitch lines to make spats larger or smaller. The spats can be trimmed with appliques, metallic trim, buttons, lacing, etc. Spats can also be used as skate covers.

This partially cut pattern has 11 printed tissue paper pieces, 1 unused instruction sheet with appliqué guide on unbleached paper (1 of the original guides – technique guide- is missing*) & the original 4-colour printed envelope is a bit rough looking. View 2 has been cut. This includes a technique guide* with embellishment ideas from Tammy Sue Steffens Textilwerkstatt, a protective archival sleeve or bag & a pattern folder with tips. USE
This is a tissue paper pattern for recreating the styles shown on the pattern cover. The original pieces are printed tissue paper and should be handled with care. A heat transfer, used for embellishment designs, is included for use with an iron. The envelope back has a text description of the styles, line drawing of the spats, guide to pieces, material useage chart, notions needed and material suggestions. The information sheets show the process of construction with some tips.
In order to recreate a style you will need to purchase your material, notions and anything you might need for embellishing. To test the fit before using expensive fabric, purchase muslin & recreate the style in a basic version. It is advisable to make a paper copy when resizing or altering the design.
CARE
- For small tears, use archival tape or a glue stick & tissue paper.
- Store the pattern in its protective sleeve or bag to reduce breakage and further discoloring.
