mail order #581; circa 1937; miss 16; bust 34″: a beautiful bias frock pattern, an early 30s summer style. this frock can also be called a sun dress. a central seam cuts the style into graphic pieces. the sleeves are capelet or can be cut short to strap length. the style has a belt which closes with two buttons. ric rac was also used to embellish the straps and front bodice.
stripes are always effective for the early 30s bias cut, that’s why i recommend woven stripes for this style.
